Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

As a Procurement Specialist for Maintenance, you will be integral in enhancing and streamlining our purchasing operations. Your responsibilities will include obtaining quotes, generating purchase orders, nurturing supplier partnerships, and ensuring precision in orders and invoicing. Your contributions will significantly influence our operational effectiveness, cost efficiency, and supplier performance.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 9 AM - 5 PM

Weekends: As Needed

Core Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Engagement: Request quotes from vendors for non-corrugated materials and services, as well as from affiliated Hood Container locations for corrugated supplies.
  • Requisition Management: Authorize and process all purchase requisitions.
  • Order Management: Create and oversee purchase orders for both direct and indirect materials and services.
  • Communication: Liaise with suppliers regarding purchase orders, delivery timelines, and pricing. Collaborate with internal teams such as customer service, planning, design, preproduction, and corrugated material estimating.
  • Data Oversight: Maintain and update purchase order details related to shipping, delivery dates, quantities, and pricing to ensure accurate supplier expectations.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Address discrepancies concerning quantities and receipts internally. Manage invoice discrepancies between accounts payable and suppliers.
  • Supplier Assessment: Research and evaluate suppliers based on various criteria such as cost, quality, service, and reliability.
  • Cost Optimization: Assist in identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives within the supply chain.
  • Supplier Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding of new suppliers and facilitate the investigation and resolution of quality issues with suppliers.
  • Supplier Data Management: Update and revise supplier information, including contacts, payment methods, and terms.
  • Supplier Relations: Foster a positive relationship with suppliers and track supplier history and service levels.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in procurement or purchasing roles.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
    • Adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
