Job Overview

New Tech Global Staffing is seeking a dedicated MRO Procurement Specialist for a prominent manufacturing client. This position is designed to transition from temporary to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and procure new materials as per the requirements of various departments including Operations, R&D, Marketing, and Engineering.
  • Streamline and enhance the purchasing process for MRO supplies.
  • Negotiate contracts for FTL, LTL, and Intermodal freight services.
  • Initiate requests for quotes and establish supply agreements for items not covered by existing contracts.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to discover innovative strategies for cost reduction and improved lead times.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with key suppliers to foster strong relationships.
  • Work in partnership with internal teams to refine purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Support scheduled maintenance activities for plant machinery, mobile equipment, and various building systems.
  • Develop and implement inspection schedules and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Manage work order logs and resource allocation as directed.
  • Perform additional purchasing tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is mandatory; some college education is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in purchasing and negotiation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP systems is essential.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of engaging with a diverse workforce.
  • Adept at identifying non-compliance issues with parts, materials, and components.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing setting.
  • Prior experience in parts inventory and inventory management is advantageous.
  • Mechanical knowledge is preferred.
