Mechanic I Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at the Virginia International Terminals in Virginia Inland Port. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance on various equipment and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:- Work under established standard operating procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on equipment and machinery, including straddle carriers, cranes, forklifts, and hustler trucks.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures, applying corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Start all equipment at the beginning of each day and ensure they are properly fueled.
- Perform monthly PMs to maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Identify needed parts for repairs and ensure compliance with all security, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; at least 1 year of trade school preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
