As a Principal Mass Properties Engineer at SNC Ltd, you will be responsible for developing complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems throughout the product lifecycle. You will work on all aspects of mass properties on aircraft programs, from preliminary weight estimation to final aircraft weighing.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, and it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems
  • Work on all aspects of mass properties on aircraft programs
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Author SAWE RP8 reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline
  • 17 or more years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with wind tunnel and aircraft flight test
  • Exposure to aircraft stability principles and control system design and analysis

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
