About the Role

The General Manager of Restaurant Operations is a key leadership position at Columbia Hospitality, responsible for providing domain-specific guidance and support to our team members, senior leaders, and key stakeholders. This role requires a strong understanding of culinary trends, quality control, and financial management practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement property-specific business plans, focusing on F&B team leadership and growth.
  • Build and nurture a network of recruits for all levels of F&B talent, facilitating internal networking and inter-property transfers.
  • Establish and maintain CHI corporate standards for food and beverage quality, presentation, handling, sanitation, service, and safety.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure all F&B products and work practices meet established standards.
  • Participate in individual property assessments of F&B team members, aligning with CHI performance review and coaching/counseling policies and procedures.
  • Assist in coaching and advising staff in safety, sanitation, food handling, and alcohol service standards.
  • Work in partnership with purchasing or procurement vendor loyalty programs (GPOs) to drive successful company-wide fiscal-minded programs.
  • Provide feedback on annual operating and capital budgets directly related to food and beverage operations.
  • Assist in the selection, supervision, training, and development of food and beverage managers and associates.
Requirements
  • A hotel management or culinary arts degree and/or equivalent training.
  • Eight or more years of industry and culinary management experience.
  • Multi-outlet experience required.
  • Working knowledge of culinary trends, quality control, and financial management practices.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and operations manuals.
  • Substantial general management skills, including time management, information analysis, planning, and organizing.
  • Proven financial management skills, including budget management, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Strong employee management and leadership skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, and relationship-building.
