Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Faculty Member to join our Skilled Trades department at Red Rocks Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and facilitating courses in the Skilled Trades program, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Teach and facilitate day, evening, or weekend courses as assigned, ensuring that all courses meet the approved course outcomes and outlines.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional materials for the Skilled Trades program.
  • Service and Professional Development: Participate in departmental service, including curriculum coordination and development, advising, outreach, and workforce development.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates degree in the skilled trades or equivalent education in Carpentry, HVAC or Plumbing for journeyman.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Carpentry, HVAC or Plumbing, including estimating, purchasing, installation, maintenance and repair of residential, commercial and industrial systems.
  • Teaching Experience: Experience teaching or providing on-the-job training.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possession of or eligibility to obtain Colorado Vocational Credential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in the trades or related field.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in Carpentry, HVAC or Plumbing.
  • Management Experience: Management or supervision experience in construction.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of individuals from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.
Physical and Cognitive Demands

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position:

  • Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • This is largely a sedentary role.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students.
