Youth Engagement Specialist

Child Care Provider at YMCA
This position requires embodying the values and mission of the YMCA while engaging with children. The main duties involve nurturing skill development, self-awareness, interpersonal relationships, and character growth among youth. By exemplifying care, accountability, integrity, and respect, this role acts as a constructive role model for both children and adults.
- Supervise and participate in activities with children aged 6 weeks to 12 years who are members or guests of the YMCA.
- Work shifts are capped at 5 hours, during which parents engage in Healthy Living programs.
- Facilitate play and activities for children while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare environments.
- Strong communication skills with both adults and children.
Primary Duties:
- Ensure the safety and welfare of children at all times.
- Never leave children unsupervised.
- Maintain an enjoyable, secure, and stimulating atmosphere.
- Engage actively with members in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Serve as a positive role model and promote YMCA values.
- Adhere to emergency protocols and be knowledgeable in first aid practices.
- Ensure a clean and hazard-free environment in the childcare area.
- Participate in staff meetings and carry out additional responsibilities as needed.
