Enterprise Architect Job Description

The Enterprise Architect is a key role at AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., responsible for aligning IT with business strategy and driving the optimal application of technology to business processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Define strategies for the inception, utilization, and retirement of capabilities and technologies.
  • Architecture Governance: Serve as the escalation point for architecture decisions made on projects and lead the definition of enterprise architecture principles and standards.
  • Architecture Modeling: Create and maintain descriptions of the current-state and target architecture of the enterprise.
  • Technology Roadmapping: Define and maintain the capability and technology roadmap for the enterprise.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Engage in Architecture Governance activities, work closely with Heads of Delivery and IT Functional Leads, and provide consultative and thought-partner expertise to IT and business leadership.
  • Leadership and Development: Lead specific IT strategy definition efforts, conduct evaluations of new technologies, and mentor and develop less experienced architects and other technical resources.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, systems analysis, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of practical experience designing, managing, or developing applications in a client/server, service-oriented architecture.
  • Skills: Deep level expertise in one or more of the following: application architecture, data architecture, integration architecture, network design, middleware, servers and storage, or database management.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to travel as needed.
