Behavioral Health Supervisor

Join Fairfax County, VA as a Behavioral Health Supervisor and lead a team of professionals in providing exceptional mental health services to individuals in need.
About the Role:This position works within the Residential Admissions Unit (RAU), providing outreach, monitoring, and engagement services to individuals on the waiting list for residential treatment services. As a Behavioral Health Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing clinical supervision, case management, and treatment services to individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide weekly clinical supervision to residential treatment support staff and monitor day-to-day functioning of the team.
- Assign staff to cases recommended for substance use disorders (SUD) residential level of care and serve as the point of contact for same.
- Act as liaison between CSB referral sources and CSB residential treatment programs.
- Support management of the residential treatment waitlist and coordinate admissions to the program.
- Provide backup case coordination and residential treatment placement coverage.
- Under direction, develop and implement a specialized program to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of service provision.
- Supervise day-to-day program operations and promote awareness of program services through presentations.
- Develop and monitor program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local policies, regulations, and statutes.
- Graduation from an accredited college with a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing, plus three years of clinical experience, or a doctoral degree in psychology, social, counseling, or nursing, plus one year of clinical experience.
- Valid driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) must be maintained throughout employment with Community Services Board.
- First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of appointment and maintained throughout Community Services Board employment.
- Medication Administration Assistance Certification within 90 days of appointment.
- Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- At least three years of clinical supervisory experience.
- Experience with providing behavioral health services to individuals receiving treatment with mental health disorders, substance use disorders (SUD), and/or co-occurring disorders (COD).
- Experience providing case management and/or case coordination, outreach, and engagement services.
- Experience working in residential treatment settings.
- Ability to independently drive a county vehicle.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and write as needed to complete duties of the job.
- Ability to observe client behavior/appearance and converse with clients and co-workers.
Panel interview and may include a practical exercise.
