Role Overview:
As a Principal Engineer within the GenAI Knowledge Assets division, you will be pivotal in shaping the technical strategy and vision of our team.

Your collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Cybersecurity, AI as a Service, and Business Development, will be essential in architecting an enterprise-level solution for GenAI Knowledge Assets. This includes formulating a robust business strategy, orchestrating knowledge management, and spearheading data product development to enhance the value of Currency Cloud's GenAI applications.

This position is integral to the leadership team, responsible for establishing a technical roadmap, introducing industry-standard technologies, and overseeing the knowledge management system. You will work closely with development managers and teams to identify and mitigate technical challenges while collaborating with various product and data science teams to streamline feature requests and model onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams, data science experts, and development groups to drive the technical roadmap and guide the creation and implementation of new data-driven business solutions.
  • Establish technical standards and best practices, continuously enhancing the scalability of the AI Platform.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering the development of the team’s talent pipeline.
  • Define a structured architectural approach to address the components of our document framework, formulate relevant hypotheses, and support project workflows.
  • Implement and evolve document governance strategies based on content, confidentiality, and access requirements.
  • Drive innovation through creative and practical solutions to challenges faced by the organization.
  • Partner with the Global Data Office to develop technological solutions that automate key document management functions and enhance the capabilities of the Currency Cloud Library to support our GenAI tools.
  • Monitor the global landscape of AI solutions to ensure the deployment of best practices within the Currency Cloud ecosystem.

Additional Information:
This is a hybrid role, with employees expected to work from the office 2-3 days a week based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or at least 9 years with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 6 years with a PhD, or 15+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in implementing knowledge frameworks and solutions for GenAI applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, Golang, Java, Python, or C/C++.
  • Expertise in web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
  • Advanced knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and Data Science.
  • Authority in architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind.
  • Familiarity with distributed in-memory computing technologies like Redis.
  • A background in the payments domain is advantageous.

Varies based on departmental needs.

Travel Requirements:
This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements:
This role will be performed in an office setting, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
