Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Arkose's product architecture, data flows, usage patterns, and customer scenarios to establish yourself as a technical authority on overall architecture.
  • Collaborate to enhance our existing architecture by integrating stream processing and designing products that align with the business's scaling requirements.
  • Balance the increasing demands of the business with sensible architectural choices.
  • Lead projects with minimal guidance from engineering or product leadership, driving them to successful completion as necessary.
  • Work closely with fellow architecture leads, engineering management, and product management on project specifications, designs, and development strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance across various product domains and offer recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Prioritize product quality, operational costs, and reliability as core principles of architecture.
  • Mentor engineers at all levels and collaborate with Engineering leadership to cultivate a nurturing culture focused on innovation and execution.
  • Infuse creativity and enthusiasm to influence the strategic direction of our technology and products while mentoring team members.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of engineering experience concentrated on application development (or a Master's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience).
  • In-depth technical knowledge of application development in cloud environments, with hands-on experience in making trade-offs and data-driven design decisions.
  • Experience in production-level stream processing architecture and frameworks such as Apache Flink.
  • Proven experience in developing cloud-native distributed systems capable of processing high volumes of traffic and data at scale.
  • Strong understanding of web/HTTP concepts and methodologies, including DNS, TLS, browser caching, and CDNs.
  • Able to think strategically while also delving deeply into specific technical areas.
  • Demonstrated customer focus with a commitment to addressing their needs.
  • Experience leading the architecture of successful, large-scale SaaS products with outstanding business outcomes in cloud settings.
  • Proficient in mentoring senior and/or staff engineers to elevate their capabilities.
  • Expertise in Golang and familiarity with Python/Go.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including architectural reviews, technical design deep dives, implementation, testing, and CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, blue-green deployments, and canary releases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to the cybersecurity and fraud prevention sectors is advantageous.
