Medical Assistant II

Job Summary
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join our team. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a critical role in ensuring efficient clinic flow, demonstrating a collaborative approach to patient care, and performing advanced clinical skills and/or programs and processes.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, and notify appropriate providers.
- Prepare patient, room, and equipment for procedures and exams.
- Take and record vital signs, and inform provider of patient vital signs and concerns.
- Recognize and treat emergency patients as a priority, and assist with patient examinations and treatments.
- Register new patients and establish a medical record.
- Assist patients by filling out insurance and other forms.
- Supply authorized information upon request by third-party payors.
- Review patient instructions with patients in preparation for specific procedures.
- Collect and process routine laboratory specimens.
- Operate and maintain clinical equipment.
- Maintain and use aseptic technique, including sterilization, disinfection, and disposal of contaminated material.
- Perform one or more advanced roles, such as program leader, procedural specialist, or MA program supporter.
Requirements
- 12 months full-time or equivalent hours (2,000 hours) as an MA II.
- Performance review is on-track.
- Evidence of completion of five or more continuing education credits in addition to certification requirement.
- Completion of DH Leadership courses Communication I and II.
- Active American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) certified - CMA designation OR American Medical Technologists (AMT) registered - RMA designation OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plus 12-month apprenticeship program - CCMA designation.
- Current BLS certification required.
