Position Overview:
The Lead Medical Assistant will undertake both clinical and administrative responsibilities under the guidance of the administrator, supporting the team, fellow leads, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise medical assistants in their roles and ensure completion of competencies and proficiencies.
- Manage employee schedules, approve timesheets, and handle time-off requests.
- Generate monthly reports and assess stent statuses.
- Oversee and maintain all medical equipment.
- Order necessary office and medical supplies.
- Utilize problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills in patient interactions.
- Communicate with pharmaceutical representatives.
- Coordinate CPR renewals and oversee CLIA inspections.
- Prepare monthly calendars for providers.
- Assign tasks to medical assistants and ensure completion.
- Conduct monthly inspections of back-office operations.
- Assist team members and leads as required.
- Develop workflows, policies, and procedures to enhance staff performance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure staff adherence to these standards.
- Provide training and in-services for staff.
- Hold monthly meetings to address staff concerns.
- Monitor all medical assistants' tasks, schedules, and communications.
- Attend meetings as necessary.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all patient and staff interactions.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or two years of relevant experience in a medical setting is essential; experience in urology is advantageous.
- Certification or licensure from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required for specific locations.
- A minimum of two years of leadership experience is necessary; supervisory experience is preferred.
- Urology experience is a plus.
- Typing proficiency of 40 words per minute is required.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel to other sites may be necessary as part of the role.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
- Proficient in patient triage, phlebotomy, administering injections, obtaining vital signs, and processing specimens.
- Knowledgeable in medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer software and database management.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and adept at asking detailed questions of patients.
- Demonstrates a caring and compassionate demeanor.
- Committed to maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Capable of multitasking and proactive problem-solving.
- High level of professionalism and ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to listen, sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Good physical condition is necessary for patient handling when required.
