Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing routine, standardized nursing care for patients under the supervision of a physician. Your compassion and dedication will make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other activities related to direct patient care, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.
  • Arrange for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals, and admission to the hospital, streamlining our patient flow.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure the proper functioning of equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Document patient vital statistics and other encounter data into the patient chart, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Obtain brief medical histories and chief complaints from patients, providing a solid foundation for our care.
  • Call in prescriptions for patients according to physician orders, ensuring timely and accurate medication management.
  • Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education, empowering our patients to take control of their health.
  • Prepare exam rooms with the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Receive and return clinically related telephone calls, screening and forwarding those requiring physician action.
  • Complete medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies, facilitating a smooth claims process.
  • Inform physicians of changes in schedule, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive, providing a clear chain of command and support.

Requirements

Post-high school education up to 18 months: Post-high school education in an accredited school of nursing, providing a solid foundation for your nursing career.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

South Carolina LPN License (Lawson Code NLPN), ensuring you meet the necessary regulatory requirements.

Additional Requirements

CPR Certification required, demonstrating your commitment to patient safety and well-being.
