Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Physicians with Patient Care: Collaborate with physicians to provide routine, standardized nursing care to patients under their supervision.
  • Coordinate Patient Appointments: Arrange for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals, and admission to the hospital.
  • Manage Medical Supplies and Equipment: Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Document Patient Information: Document patient's vital statistics and other encounter data into the patient chart, ensuring all required records are up-to-date.
  • Communicate with Patients and Families: Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through patient education, and provide support to patients and families.
  • Prepare Exam Rooms: Prepare exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment, and clean exam rooms between procedures and exams.
  • Manage Clinically Related Calls: Receive and return clinically related telephone calls, screening and forwarding those requiring physician action.
  • Complete Medical History Forms: Complete medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies.
  • Inform Physicians of Schedule Changes: Inform physicians of changes in schedule.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-high school education up to 18 months in an accredited school of nursing.
  • Certifications: South Carolina LPN License (Lawson Code NLPN).
  • Skills: CPR Certification required.
