Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Construction Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for managing construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet all technical specifications, budgetary constraints, and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets with end-users and stakeholders.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of facilities projects, including design, renovations, relocations, and new construction.
  • Lead project teams, including architects, contractors, and engineers, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and overseeing performance.
  • Conduct regular project inspections to assess progress and identify any issues or risks.
  • Prepare and present project reports, including status updates, financial tracking, and risk management plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management and Planning, Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field with five (5) years of related management experience, OR a Master's degree with three (3) years of related experience OR nine (9) years of facilities/construction project experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven track record of managing facilities projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, engineering, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and LEED certification is a plus.
