Job Summary

We are seeking an Adjunct Professor of Political Science to join our faculty team at Oklahoma City Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in political science, including American federal government, public administration, and international relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in political science, including lectures, discussions, and assignments
  • Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development
  • Support student success and retention through advising and mentoring
Requirements
  • Master's degree in political science or a related field
  • 18 graduate hours in political science
  • Experience in online instruction and teaching certification preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching courses in American federal government, public administration, and international relations
  • Knowledge of competency-based instructional systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a classroom or online environment, with frequent movement and communication with students, colleagues, and administrators. The successful candidate must be able to remain in a standing and stationary position for extended periods and operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
