Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty Member to join our Computer Science Department at Oklahoma City Community College. As an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various computer science courses, including programming, software development, and data structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of computer science courses, including CS 1143 Beginning Programming (C++), CS 2163 Java, and CS 2363 C++
  • Develop and implement course curricula in accordance with published course syllabi
  • Contribute to the development of new academic programs and courses to meet community needs
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments in computer science
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or related field
  • 18 graduate hours in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience in programming and teaching/instruction
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and peers
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with standard computer software applications, including operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, and basic networking
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer programs applications used in the department and on campus
  • Ability to work in a competency-based instructional system
Working Conditions

This is a part-time temporary teaching position. Work hours vary with section(s) taught according to days, times, and semesters offered. Sections are offered mornings, afternoons, evenings in eight and sixteen week formats and may be offered on-campus, online, or as a hybrid.
