Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Journalism to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses related to journalism, broadcasting, and mass communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in journalism, broadcasting, and mass communications, including news writing, magazine feature writing, and video production.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments in journalism and mass communications.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, Mass Communications, or related field.
  • At least 18 graduate hours in Journalism, Broadcasting, Mass Communications, or related field.
  • Evidence of journalism writing proficiency through published articles.
  • Experience with podcast production and digital content creation.
  • Demonstrated positive human relations and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous community college teaching experience.
  • Experience with online course delivery.
Working Conditions

The Adjunct Professor of Journalism will work on a part-time basis, teaching courses as assigned. The successful candidate will be required to work day, evening, and/or weekend hours as required by section assignment.
