Underwriting Team Leader

Under the guidance of the Regional Underwriting Manager, the chosen candidate will:
- Assist in managing the underwriting operations of a Regional Office to achieve Budget Plan objectives while adhering to corporate and regulatory standards.
- Effectively lead and develop a team, fostering high levels of employee engagement.
- Collaborate with various regions, departments, and business units to meet operational needs and corporate goals.
The successful applicant will oversee a unit responsible for underwriting and policy servicing functions, ensuring alignment with corporate underwriting and marketing practices.
Responsibilities will also include supervising the acquisition, development, profitability, and retention of a designated portfolio.Moreover, the candidate will be responsible for recruiting, training, and assessing subordinate staff, organizing the operations of the assigned Underwriting unit, and contributing to the Policy Operations and Regional Office management team while maintaining professional relationships with brokers and monitoring industry trends.
Upholding workplace integrity and delivering exceptional customer service promptly are also crucial elements of this position.Key Qualifications

- Participation in task force initiatives on corporate and industry-related matters
- Proficient knowledge of personnel management practices to effectively supervise staff and ensure high employee engagement
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external business partners, providing outstanding customer service
- Skill in influencing others, negotiating agreements, and reaching consensus among project partners and stakeholders
- Effective implementation of service strategies to enhance customer experience
- Proficient in writing professional, accurate reports and communications suitable for distribution.
This role may require business travel, ranging from overnight to five days, utilizing various modes of transportation. Travel to different work sites and locations for training or meetings may also be necessary. Work hours may vary based on the demands of the role.
