Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Facilities Design Specialist to drive moderately complex projects, evaluate and apply standard planning and architectural techniques, and assist in the development of templates and standards for planning and design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of five years of experience in planning, architectural, design, engineering, or a directly related field.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaboration and Communication: Promote learning in others by providing information, resources, and expertise to coworkers and members. Build relationships with cross-functional and external stakeholders, and listen to and address performance feedback.
- Project Management: Complete work assignments autonomously and support business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject areas and business knowledge to generate creative solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally and externally to achieve effective business decisions, and provide recommendations and solve complex problems.
- Facilitation and Training: Facilitate planning and design projects by using judgment and discretion to develop solutions to resolve moderately complex problems, establishing a communication network between the project team and other internal and external personnel, and developing training materials for the team or consultants.
- National Facilities Services (NFS) Program Deliverables: Facilitate moderately complex NFS initiatives and projects from initiation through design phase, developing, analyzing, and managing project plans, monitoring overall project performance, and driving allocation of resources.
- Consultant Relationship Management: Provide technical guidance, coordination, and project-level supervision to designers, drafters, engineers, and architects, and independently obtain and apply comprehensive research knowledge on building codes and materials.
- Compliance and Quality: Coordinate with other internal teams to ensure the enterprise facilities design standards development to ensure quality solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Interior Design, Construction Management, Cost Estimating, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum five years of experience in planning, architectural, design, engineering, CADD, hospital/medical facility, healthcare planning, construction estimating, or a directly related field, or minimum eight years of experience in a related field.
- EDAC Certification: Certified in Evidence-Based Design and Architecture.
- LEED Accredited: Accredited in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
