Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to play a pivotal role in supporting various infrastructure and civil engineering initiatives. This position is part of our Corporate Finance team and reports directly to the Project Accounting Manager. The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of assigned projects and will collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure accurate financial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with contract documentation, change orders, and other modifications related to project accounting and billing.
  • Interpret and analyze project contracts and billing terms effectively.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to align on financial expectations.
  • Prepare and review Project Setup Modification Forms (PSUMF) to ensure compliance with company policies and FASB ASC 606 regarding project budgets and revenue recognition.
  • Provide training to Project Accounting Assistants and Billers on Deltek Vision project billing terms and processes.
  • Set up, review, and approve new project and billing term setups, ensuring accuracy in the first draft invoices.
  • Compile and review final invoice packages for all billable projects, including necessary supporting documentation for approval.
  • Communicate with Project Managers regarding monthly project variances and address any financial discrepancies.
  • Review interoffice work share reports and prepare Subconsultant Account Payable forms, ensuring proper coding and approval of sub-consultant invoices.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 2 years of experience in project cost accounting.
  • Experience in the Architecture/Engineering consulting industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage medium to large-scale projects with evolving scopes and timelines.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Prevailing Wage regulations is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
