Position Overview

The Facilities Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Mission and Vision of UETHDA, particularly within the Head Start Program. This position requires a strong capacity for leadership, independent judgment, and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will prioritize decisions that align with the best interests of UETHDA and the Head Start Program.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee the management of facilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations while promoting effective and efficient operations.

2. Supervise facilities personnel, fostering a collaborative environment and mentoring staff to enhance their professional growth.

3. Advocate for the needs of the Head Start Program, delivering presentations to various stakeholders including Policy Council and Board of Directors.

4. Utilize technology to streamline operations, track performance metrics, and facilitate effective communication.

Essential Functions

1. Collaborate with various departments to ensure facilities and operations meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Conduct assessments of facility needs and manage work orders efficiently.

3. Develop and implement policies related to facility management, ensuring adherence to current regulations.

4. Maintain professional relationships with vendors and community partners.

5. Participate in annual self-assessments and coordinate facility improvements.

Supervisory Duties

1. Lead and mentor facilities staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication.

2. Design training programs to address staff development needs.

3. Evaluate staff performance fairly and constructively, implementing improvement plans as necessary.

Qualifications

1. An associate degree in a relevant field; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

2. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a related role.

3. Knowledge of building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in hours to meet operational needs. Local travel may be necessary.
