Job Summary

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team at a correctional facility in Vacaville, CA. As a key member of our mental health team, you will provide critical services to mentally ill inmates, including crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessments of criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice
  • Provide clinical reports and consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional health care personnel
  • Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings
  • Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. You will also need to be able to work in conditions that require all of the following essential functions:

  • Periodically serve as clinician-of-the-day by being available for on-call during scheduled work days for patient emergencies
  • Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations, including clinical review, applying suicide risk assessment protocols, pertinent data/chart reviews, proper documentation, and consultations as needed
  • Meet with mentally ill patient-inmates for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, face-to-face interviews, etc.
