Position Summary:

The Executive Director will report directly to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for steering the organization towards achieving its mission. This role encompasses strategic leadership, operational management, and effective fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Mission and Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with the Board and staff to ensure the organization's mission is realized through impactful programs and strategic planning.
  • Design and oversee marketing strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and community engagement.
  • Coordinate with curators to plan and execute artistic presentations and exhibitions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders to elevate the organization’s profile.

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage the organization’s facilities and ensure effective administration.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a skilled team to support organizational goals.
  • Authorize all contracts and agreements on behalf of the organization.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure the financial sustainability of the organization by developing and managing the annual budget.
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial documents and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Conduct regular financial assessments with the organization’s accountant and CPA.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing and exploring diverse revenue streams.

Board Relations:

  • Guide the organization in alignment with the mission defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the Board to facilitate informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 7-10 years in nonprofit management.
  • Strong understanding of cultural arts and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor relations.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Arabic.
  • Experience living or traveling extensively in the Middle East.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with the local arts and culture landscape.
