Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary:

The Health Federation of Philadelphia seeks a seasoned executive to lead our organization as Chief Executive Officer. As the chief executive, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the organization's mission and goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the Board of Directors' vision and goals.
  • Organizational Leadership: Foster a culture of excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and lead a team of dedicated professionals to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Financial Leadership: Oversee the development of the annual budget and ensure the organization's financial health and integrity.
  • Board Relations: Maintain open communication with the Board of Directors and provide staff support to Board operations as needed.
  • External Leadership: Establish and maintain relationships with external organizations, funders, and stakeholders to advance the organization's goals and mission.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a non-profit, human service, health/public health, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience as head of an organization, division, or large department.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare system, including federally qualified health centers, CMS, Medicaid, and the City Health Department.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills, with proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders to accomplish goals and manage expectations.
  • Superior people management and leadership skills, with proven ability to develop, supervise, and motivate a diverse staff.
  • Track record of working collaboratively with a Board of Directors on strategic planning and mission execution.
  • Strong financial management skills, with experience creating annual operating budgets that support strategic objectives.

Education:

  • Masters/professional degree in a field relevant to the organization's scope of work or equivalent combination of education and experience in a leadership position in a non-profit, human services, public health, health policy, healthcare operations, or related field.

Travel:

  • Periodic local and national travel to multiple sites, community meetings, and national conferences.
