About the Job

The Director of Finance and Administration, NSO, plays a critical role in the strategic growth and financial sustainability of the National Symphony Orchestra. This position partners with the Executive Director and Kennedy Center Finance and Human Resources staff to oversee the NSO's budget, financial operations, and personnel policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise between KC Finance, KC Human Resources, and the NSO to ensure seamless financial and HR processes.
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Kennedy Center finance and development departments to strategize the long-term growth and financial sustainability of the NSO.
  • Provide financial analysis to the Executive Director and feedback on the NSO program to Kennedy Center Finance.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including purchase requisitions, invoice submission, contract administration, and grants administration.
  • Prepare and review financial reports for board and finance committee meetings.
  • Serve as staff lead for the NSO board Pension Committee and NSO board Finance Committee.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of nonprofit finance experience preferred.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting ability.
  • Experience with implementing human resources processes and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Management experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
