The Role

  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign collection, specimen collection, and administration of medications and immunizations.
  • Collect, interpret, and document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform procedures as directed by the Medical Director, including CLIA waived labs.
  • Maintain quality control logs and perform quality assurance activities.
  • Provide clerical support, including preparing lab requests, scheduling appointments, and contacting patients to reschedule appointments.
  • Administer medications and immunizations in accordance with clinic policy.
  • Document and bill appropriately for all nursing charges.
  • Support University Health System mission, vision, and values, demonstrating established customer service behaviors and standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body required. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Card required. National certification as a registered Medical Assistant preferred. One-year experience in a clinic, doctor's office, or ambulatory care setting preferred.
