Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent, anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completes patient intake via collection of medical history and answers patient questions regarding imaging procedures.
  • Confers with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine if additional images are required.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Diag Med Sonographer Reg OR Vascular Technologist Registered or Eligible for registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered as a Vascular Technologist with the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI).
  • American Heart Association (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.
