Job Description

Position Overview

Saint Mary's College, a leading institution of higher learning, seeks a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Social Work and Gerontology. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical social work and health, with experience in evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach online graduate courses in clinical social work and health, with opportunities to teach undergraduate courses in face-to-face settings.
  • Develop and implement curricula that align with the College's mission and accreditation standards.
  • Contribute to departmental and college-level committees, service, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in MSW student recruitment, advising, and mentorship.
  • Maintain an active research program, with a focus on clinical social work and health.

Qualifications

  • PhD, DSW, or doctorate from an accredited institution in social work or a related field.
  • MSW or MSSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program, with a minimum of two years post-masters social work practice experience.
  • Applicants completing their doctoral degree within one year of appointment will be considered.
  • Social work licensing or eligibility for social work licensing is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in online graduate education and effective teaching practices.
  • Ability to teach courses across the generalist and advanced specialization curriculum, including research, social welfare policy, and practice courses.
