Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our faculty as a Full-time, Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Music. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching music theory and related courses, as well as participating in departmental and college activities.

Responsibilities
  • Teach music theory and related courses, including orchestration, arranging, digital media in music, and composition
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of music students
  • Participate in departmental and college activities, including committee work and service
  • Engage in creative work and/or research and publication
  • Recruit and mentor students
Requirements
  • PhD in Music Theory, DMA in Composition, or EdD with a focus on Theory Pedagogy
  • Some previous college teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment and take a social justice-oriented approach to research
