Registered Nurse Hospice Care Specialist

This is a per diem/on call position for night shift. The role requires traveling to see patients in the Anchorage, AK area.
Job DescriptionUnder the direction of the Hospice Director or designee and on order of the physician, the Registered Nurse is accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients and families of all ages, according to the individualized needs of the patient, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

The hospice program emphasizes quality rather than length of life. Hospice treats the person, not the disease, taking special care in include the family. It coordinates patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship to promote patient comfort and assist in the achievement of a comfortable and peaceful death.
Required Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Alaska Registered Nurse License.
- Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
- Experience in Oncology, Hospice, or Long term Care.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
