General Manager Opportunity at The Tavern Group

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial-spirited General Manager to lead the newly renovated Otto's Taproom & Grille in Brewerytown, Philadelphia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall success of the restaurant's operations, focusing on engaging locals with locally inspired and sourced food and beverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of efficient restaurant operations, from front to back, ensuring high production, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Develop and maintain an extraordinary team culture, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Partner with the back of house to ensure a cohesive mission and camaraderie among all staff.
  • Design strategies and set goals for growth, overseeing the development of short and long-term financial and operational plans.
  • Maintain profit and loss controls, inventory levels, labor, and product cost monitoring.
  • Prepare regular reports for management and lead team meetings.
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of proven experience in restaurant management.
  • Aspiring, influential, and hands-on leadership skills.
  • Experience in planning and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, operations, etc.).
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with hiring, training, and maintaining ongoing operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures and standard food and beverage equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent professional presentation.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (mobility, standing, walking, and lifting).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • RAMP and ServSafe Certified.
  • College degree in hospitality preferred but not required.
