Job Description

As a Part-time Deputy Clerk with the City of Charleston Municipal Court, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the court system. Your primary responsibilities will include providing administrative support, assisting with court sessions, and performing various clerical duties as assigned.

About the Team

You will be working closely with the Municipal Judge and Court Clerk to ensure the smooth operation of the court system. You will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to the public, answering phones, speaking with customers in person, and assisting with data entry and other tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Municipal Court system
• Assist with court sessions as required
• Perform various clerical duties such as data entry, filing, faxing, shredding, and answering phone calls
• Ensure information is entered correctly in the system and provide defendants with copies of citations and or complaints as needed

Requirements

• High School graduation or GED equivalent; Associate Degree in related field desired
• Requires knowledge in the use of a personal computer and in the application of Microsoft Office Products
• Notary Public or the ability to obtain

Salary

The annual salary for this position is estimated to be around $40,000 - $50,000 based on qualifications and experience.
