We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor of Physics to join our team at Alabama A&M University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Physics, maintaining a strong research program, and participating in departmental, college, and university service activities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a minimum of 12 semester hours per semester, including undergraduate and graduate courses in Physics.
- Maintain a strong research program, including seeking funding to support graduate students.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including teaching, research, and service.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Ph.D. in Physics with specialization in Materials Science, Nuclear Physics, Medical Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, or Engineering Physics, or a closely related field.
- At least 1-3 years of teaching experience at a university level.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence, as evidenced by research presentations and teaching assessments.
- Commitment to research, as evidenced by publication in scholarly journals and receiving external funding.
