Job Summary:

Serena & Lily is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Leader to join our team in Chicago. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of our store operations, ensuring maximum sales and profitability through effective merchandising, inventory management, and human resources management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of client services, ensuring a warm and friendly environment for our clients.
  • Oversee and manage the operation of the store, including receiving, shipping, and product storage systems.
  • Coordinate with the store leadership team to drive sales and run the business, including managing associates and inventory levels.
  • Establish and maintain stockroom standards to facilitate selling floor operations.
  • Assist in the leadership of merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies, and presentations.
  • Manage inbound receiving and outbound shipments.
  • Coach and counsel staff to ensure excellent client service standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team to achieve excellence.
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent client service standards and lead best practice implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek solutions, with a self-starter mentality.
  • Microsoft Windows proficiency, especially Word and Excel.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of retail leadership experience, preferably in the interiors/home furnishings field.
  • Inventory management or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong sense of personal style.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer systems and POS systems.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and clients.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store, generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.
