Job Title: Electrician

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at Skookum Contract Services. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for inspecting, operating, and testing industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test industrial lighting equipment to identify electrical and mechanical issues
  • Replace lamps and ballasts as needed
  • Clean lighting fixtures, replace receptacles, and perform miscellaneous re-lamping repairs
  • Perform minor electrical installations and repairs, including outlet repair and replacement, circuit breaker maintenance, and sensor installation
  • Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, and maintenance manuals
  • Keep records of maintenance, work performed, and cost of work
  • Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights
  • Work from heights, ladders, and man lifts as required
  • Must be able to distinguish between different wire colors
  • Must be able to drive up to a 1-ton pickup truck with trailer
  • Must wear PPE as required
Requirements:
  • Electrician certificate
  • First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain one
  • Must be willing to work outside normal working hours (back shift and weekends) with notice
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints
  • Physical requirements include lifting and moving up to 80 pounds, standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrician license
  • 6 months of electrician experience
  • Experience in all areas of general contracting/maintenance
