Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy, and specialized automotive equipment, as well as other heavy equipment and FAV vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques in the field.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years minimum experience in the problem diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy, and/or specialized automotive equipment, other heavy equipment, and FAV vehicles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment.
Working Environment

Amentum is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. As an Automotive Technician, you will work in a typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards. You will be required to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stand, and walk frequently, and sit occasionally. You will also be required to use speech and hearing abilities for communication and possess planning and organizing skills to work under deadlines.

Additional Requirements
  • Must have a valid and current state driver's license.
  • Must understand and be able to use technical manuals.
  • Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
