Job Summary
The Medical Screener Assistant will assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role involves assessing self-administered health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist donors in completing the screening process, including assessing health history and answering medical questions.
- Perform health screening procedures, such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature checks.
- Refer donors to medical staff when necessary and ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed.
- Follow all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
- Ensure confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
- Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
- Reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
- Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
