Position Overview

Temporary Role with Possibility of Permanent Placement for the Right Candidate

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates pre-appointment arrangements by addressing patients' unique needs, ensuring necessary tests and labs are scheduled and completed prior to visits, and organizing patient records.
  • Guides patients to examination rooms and records vital signs.
  • Executes a range of patient care tasks within the Medical Assistant scope, including but not limited to administering injections and performing EKGs.
  • Collects blood samples following established protocols while ensuring a professional and patient-centered environment.
  • Assists healthcare providers during office procedures.
  • Prepares laboratory requisitions and submits specimens accordingly.
  • Processes electronic prescriptions as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Communicates with patients regarding lab results, imaging outcomes, and prescription guidelines as per practice standards.
  • Maintains cleanliness and restocks examination rooms.
  • Upholds the highest level of confidentiality regarding all patient records, including treatment details, medical history, medications, and financial information.
  • During busy periods, may be required to assist with administrative tasks as a Practice Assistant.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is highly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification is advantageous.
  • Current national medical assistant certification from recognized organizations is preferred, including:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) – Credential: CMA
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT) – Credential: RMA
    • National Healthcare Association (NHA) – Credential: CCMA
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) – Credential: NCMA (National Medical Assistant Certification is required within six months of hire)
