About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager Sales Tax Audit to join our team at Verizon. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for managing an inventory of sales/use and gross receipts tax audits of select Verizon entities and associated reserves.

This role requires a strong understanding of transaction tax laws, audit acumen, and the ability to negotiate and advocate favorable outcomes. You will work closely with other tax groups to ensure the Company resolves tax audits favorably and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an inventory of sales/use and gross receipts tax audits of select Verizon entities and associated reserves
  • Partner with other tax groups to ensure the Company resolves tax audits favorably
  • Develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities and negotiate favorable audit settlements
  • Present audit impacts to upper management and work with Senior Manager on presentations
  • Manage related accounting and demonstrate a high degree of data analytics skills
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience
  • Five or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suites
  • Even better if you have one or more of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Analytics/Business Intelligence or related discipline
    • Experience with sales/use and gross receipts tax with a proven record of effectively dealing with transaction tax audits
    • Experience with digital automation and data visualization technology (e.g., Alteryx, QLIK)
    • An advanced degree in Law, Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science
