About Southwest Medical:
Part of OptumCare, Southwest Medical is a comprehensive multi-specialty group comprising over 300 healthcare professionals, including physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. We operate 21 medical health centers, which feature six urgent care clinics, four convenient care centers, two lifestyle centers for older adults, an outpatient surgery center, and a range of services including home health, hospice, palliative care, and telemedicine options through Now Clinic.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned tasks, which may involve reviewing, monitoring, scheduling, and processing referrals while notifying ordering providers through appropriate channels.
  • Schedule approximately 900 appointments monthly for the Cardiology Department using the IDX Touchworks system.
  • Coordinate scheduling and manage At Risk and Expedite referrals, collaborating with external contracted network providers.
  • Ensure accurate demographic and insurance information in IDX, making updates as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with department providers, managers, supervisors, and staff members, assisting team members with various duties as needed.
  • Maintain patient records accurately in compliance with HIPAA and established policies and procedures.
  • Handle all incoming phone calls from the phone queue.
  • Collect and update demographic information for new and existing patients, including insurance details.
