Psychiatric Technician I Correctional Health Position

This is a unique opportunity to work as a Psychiatric Technician I in the Correctional Health Services department of Los Angeles County. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting professional staff members in the delivery of mental health services to clients who are mentally ill or emotionally disturbed.
Key Responsibilities- Apply principles of mental health in relationships with clients as a member of a Psychiatric Mobile Response Team, Clinical Behavioral Management Response Team, crisis intervention team, or therapeutic team at an outpatient or inpatient facility.
- Observe, evaluate, record, and report significant changes in the client's condition to professional staff members.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including helping clients with personal hygiene and recording measures of their physical condition.
- Aid or restrain clients to prevent injury to themselves or others.
- Prepare appropriate forms in connection with emergency calls, evaluation of the client's condition, and maintenance of the client's records.
- Assist professional staff members in providing and documenting occupational, recreational, and vocational therapy programs related to the client's treatment plan.
- Administer prescribed medications to clients in acute psychiatric settings.
- A valid and active license as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
