We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Technician II to join our team at the County of Los Angeles, CA. As a key member of our correctional health services, you will play a vital role in providing mental health support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist professional staff members in delivering mental health services and indirect and direct patient care to emotionally disturbed or mentally ill clients.
- Observe, evaluate, record, and report changes in client condition.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including helping clients with personal hygiene and taking and recording physical measurements.
- Implement de-escalation procedures and techniques and aid or restrain clients to prevent injury.
- Participate in planning, executing, and documenting interventions related to the client care plan.
- Collaborate with other mental health staff to develop and manage an effective treatment plan.
- One year of post-license experience assisting mental health professionals in delivering preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative psychiatric services to emotionally disturbed or mentally ill clients at the level of Psychiatric Technician I.
- A valid and active license as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
This position requires working in a correctional facility environment, which may involve exposure to potentially hazardous situations. The successful candidate must be willing to work any shift and at any correctional facility, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
