Job Title: Sales & Service Banker

At City National Bank, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales & Service Banker to join our team. As a Sales & Service Banker, you will be responsible for servicing our clients and opening account referrals for our larger business centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the Business & Sales Service Manager to prepare required reports and perform other functions as needed.
  • Service clients and open account referrals for larger branches.
  • Provide assistance in completing Requests for information (RFIs) from the BSA department as needed.
  • Assist in completing Financial ticklers and signature cards in a timely manner.
  • Proactively seek ways to develop and expand client relationships to contribute to the bank's success.
  • Develop and maintain a prospect list of potential clients through identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Responsible for the retention and growth of the Banking Center team goals, including client retention and deepening existing relationships.
  • Develop deposit and loan relationships through client referrals.
  • Be well-versed in all bank products and services to ensure relationship-building opportunities and maintain strong relationships with current clients.
  • Cross-trained in all paying, receiving, and collection functions, including cash handling.
  • Accurately process transactions, adhere to strict security measures, and balance procedures.
  • May provide loan support functions, such as preparing prescreen memos and loan documentation scanning, with guidance from the Business Market Leader.
  • Identify client needs and coordinate/refer to other lines of business as needed, including meeting referral goal expectations.
  • Open and process all types of accounts, products, and/or services for clients after consulting with them on their specific needs.
  • Make overdraft decisions on a daily basis, pay/return decisions using independent judgment within authority limits.
  • Handle general client inquiries, reconcile client statements, and confer with operations personnel regarding discrepancies in balances and other problems.
  • Service all client account needs, including accepting deposits, cashing checks within limits, processing withdrawals, selling travelers checks, and cashier checks, accepting loan payments, etc.
  • Work closely with all lines of business and other departments to deliver an integrated and seamless experience for clients.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and knowledge of the marketplace, working with other bank employees on the approval of transactions necessary for the efficient operation of the bank.
  • Ensure compliance with the bank's operational and security policies and procedures to ensure maximum accounting integrity and security at all times.
  • Complete all necessary G/L tickets and balances accurately.
  • Ensure that reports required by Senior Management are accurate and completed on time.
  • Responsible for opening and closing the banking center.
  • Meet the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and follow procedures, including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of work experience and proven consultative outside sales experience in financial services or small business banking.
  • Ability to demonstrate examples of improving specific businesses' financial outcomes by interpreting financial statements and recommending specific levers to pull.
  • Proven track record of prospecting new business, enhancing existing relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Proven sales skills and client management experience.
  • Must be able to assess and analyze financial conditions of clients and industry trends.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements and cash flow analysis.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
