Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Utility Person. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, demonstrate reliability, and exhibit motivation. This role entails executing cross-functional responsibilities in plant maintenance, production, and equipment operation efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding under the supervision of the plant manager or designated personnel.
  • Perform daily pre/post-shift inspections on equipment and maintain a maintenance log.
  • Utilize hand tools and operate skid steers, front-end loaders, and other equipment to maintain cleanliness around plant machinery and manage roadways and parking areas.
  • Operate a water truck to minimize airborne dust.
  • Engage in plant operations, including production, loading, shipping, and quality control.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in assigned areas and maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site.
  • Safely operate plant-specific mobile equipment such as excavators and haul trucks as required.
  • Assist in training co-workers as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience in the building materials industry is preferred.
