Job Summary

As a Community Pharmacy Resident at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in supervising pharmacy site, services, and personnel assigned. You will facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and workflows, ensuring costs, including labor, pharmaceutical, supply, and other expenses are within budget. You will perform all duties of a clinical community pharmacist, including supervising staff, students, and residents, as well as ensuring efficient operations by developing standard workflows procedures.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Supervise staff, students, and residents, including recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, staff development, counseling, disciplining, scheduling, payroll, and conducting staff meetings.
  • Ensure efficient operations by developing standard workflows procedures and ensuring processes are in place to collect payment and reconcile pharmacy claims.
  • Assist in the development of the pharmacy budget and review monthly financial and human resource budget, explaining variances to supervisor and pharmacy leadership.
  • Create and promote a positive, customer service-oriented image of the pharmacy and ensure pharmacy meets a high standard of confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Actively assess the security of medication areas and the compliance of personnel with established policies, procedures, state, and federal laws, including record keeping.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring inventory is rotated and expired stock is appropriately disposed of and orders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Perform duties of a clinical staff pharmacist, including verification of medication orders, dispensing of medications, patient consultation, and compounding, following all pharmacy policies and procedures and in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Education and Experience
  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm.Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • One year experience as a pharmacist.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
State Licensure
  • Pharmacist, Registered - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Pharmacist - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
  • Pharmacist - Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy
  • Pharmacist - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
