As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of employees in charge of handling and transporting materials to and from different departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Approve or recommend selection of employees, and evaluate employee performance.
    • Assign schedules and duties to staff ensuring appropriate coverage.
  • Inventory Management
    • Review materials management inventory operations and procedures.
    • Maintain materials management records, such as master inventory files, manufacturer information, catalogue numbers, and material descriptions.
  • Supply Chain Coordination
    • Stay informed of current, new, and obsolete materials.
    • Organize and maintain warehouse and inventory yard areas for efficient material storage and handling.
  • Performance Evaluation
    • Evaluate staff performance to ensure departmental processes are being adhered to and dispatched calls are being addressed in a timely manner.
    • Assist employees with tasks related to materials handling to address periods of high volume.
  • Internal Controls
    • Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
    • Ensure employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes
    • Knowledge of business and management principles.
    • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
    • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
    • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
    • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
    • Commitment to the University's core values.
