Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified union-journeyman level HVAC service technician to join our service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heating and cooling systems in commercial and industrial environments. Technicians will assess malfunctioning equipment, utilizing various diagnostic tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that hinder performance or pose safety risks. Regular maintenance is a key component of this role, alongside the ability to respond to emergency service calls for urgent repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HVAC System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, including cleaning vents, ensuring filtration systems are operational, and executing seasonal transitions between heating and cooling modes.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with HVAC systems based on customer reports or findings during maintenance checks, determining whether repairs or replacements are necessary.
  • Repair and Replacement: Execute a variety of repairs, from minor part replacements to complete system overhauls, ensuring all components are installed and tested correctly.
  • Customer Consultation: Engage with customers to gather information about system performance, provide estimates for services, and keep them informed throughout the repair process.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols while diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, including disconnecting power sources and maintaining clean work areas.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer systems and services performed, ensuring timely maintenance and addressing recurring issues effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in conducting routine and emergency HVAC repairs while providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC installation, maintenance, and operational best practices.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and other professionals.
  • Relevant certifications, such as chiller, black or blue seal licenses, and VFD experience are advantageous.
