POSITION OVERVIEW

Under general supervision, the Military Retail Supervisor is responsible for providing exceptional guest service experiences utilizing GameStop's Buy-Sell-Trade Model, The Circle of Life, and Solution Selling techniques. This role ensures that products are easily accessible and visible, shares gaming knowledge with guests, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business. Additionally, this position will support the store management team in overseeing store operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales Enthusiasm: Engage in active selling by identifying and fulfilling guest needs while closing sales effectively. Utilize GameStop's Solution Selling Tablet to cater to each guest's requirements. Show a strong commitment to exceeding sales goals.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service: Greet guests promptly, address their questions and concerns courteously, assist them in fulfilling their gaming needs, inform them of promotions, recommend additional products, and express gratitude for their patronage; prioritize guest interactions over tasks by actively circulating throughout the store.
  • Accurately process guest transactions through the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Respond to guest inquiries in person or via phone, ensuring a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Assist in managing staffing levels to guarantee optimal guest service at all times.
  • Customer-Centric Selling: Enhance sales and guest loyalty by crafting comprehensive solutions tailored to each guest. Show genuine interest in every guest's needs and make informed recommendations to simplify their gaming experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Exhibit a commitment to supporting fellow team members, demonstrating reliability, a willingness to improve, and responsiveness to feedback. Seek opportunities to elevate service levels for the business and guests.
  • Operational Efficiency: Respond swiftly and accurately to operational demands essential for creating exceptional guest experiences in a clean and organized store.
  • Assist management with inventory counts, restocking merchandise, and ensuring all products are well-represented on the sales floor.
  • Support the store team in achieving sales and profit targets while fulfilling administrative and operational duties as directed by the Store Leader.
  • Ensure accurate completion of daily business transactions and bank deposits as per established guidelines.
  • Monitor shipments for discrepancies and maintain security protocols during store closing.
  • Supervise and assign tasks to Game Advisors in the absence of management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and provide proof of age.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail sales or guest service is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of video games is preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 20 lbs. and perform various physical tasks.
  • Must have reliable transportation for necessary duties.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong guest service skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in operating POS systems and completing required paperwork.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of alphabetizing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and judgment.
  • Ability to manage stress and maintain effectiveness under pressure.
